Day 01 Arrival Chennai
  • On arrival at Chennai airport our representative having a placard displaying your name will meet you at the airport to pick you up and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day is free at your leisure.
  • About Chennai:- Chennai, on the Bay of Bengal in eastern India, is the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu. The city is home to Fort St. George, built in 1644 and now a museum showcasing the city’s roots as a British military garrison and East India Company trading outpost, when it was called Madras.   • Places to visit:- In the afternoon visit to the capital city. Your first visit will be to the famous Fort George. The fort is named after St George who used to preach in Chennai.
  • Have a short drive to visit the famous Santhome Church where the Basilica was built over the tomb of St.Thomas,
  • One among the three in the World. Mary’s Church was designed by Edward Fowle and built by William Dixon.

  • Enroute stop and visit Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple. The person who can be credited with the erection of this temple is King Rajendra Chola, son of Raja Raja Chola. Rajendra built this temple to recreate his father’s achievement, the Brihadeeswara Temple of Thanjavur. Also visit Darasuram Airavatesvara Temple. This temple is a storehouse of art and architecture and has some exquisite stone carvings. Although this temple is much smaller than the Brihadeeswara Temple or the Gangaikondacholapuram Temple, it is more exquisite in detail. This is because this temple is said to have been built with nitya-vinoda, “perpetual entertainment”, in mind.
