The garhi has circular bastions on each of its comers.
  • About Lucknow: Lucknow, a large city in northern India, is the capital of the state of Uttar Pradesh. Toward its center is Rumi Darwaza, a Mughal gateway. Nearby, the 18th-century Bara Imambara shrine has a huge arched hall. Upstairs, Bhool Bhulaiya is a maze of narrow tunnels with city views from its upper balconies. Close by, the grand Victorian Husainabad Clock Tower was built as a victory column in 1881.

  • Sankat Mochan Temple: Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple is a Hindu temple in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India and is dedicated to the Hindu God Hanuman. The temple was established by famous Hindu preacher and poet saint Sri Goswami Tulsidas in the early 16th century and is situated on the banks of the Assi river.

  • Today we take a City tour of Mumbai visiting Gateway of India, the entrance to the port of Mumbai. It was built to commemorate the visit of King George V in 1911. Across the road we visit Prince Wales Museum; It boasts a collection of ancient Indus Valley artefacts dating 2000 BC, plus some priceless Tibetan & Nepali Art.
  • Later we take the boat cruise from Gateway of India to visit Elephanta Caves, houses rock cut temples dating back to 5th century CE. It was named by the Portuguese, after the statue of an elephant near the landing area of the island. We also drive through the Marine Drive, which runs along the shore of the Arabian Sea from Nariman Point past Chowpatty Beach to the foot of Malabar Hill.(Elephanta tickets will be direct)

  • Post breakfast around 1000 Hrs we go on to explore local market of Mumbai.
  • We visit Crawford Market is one of the prominent markets of Mumbai. Though it is now officially known as the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Market, it is still popular by its former name. The construction of the market building was completed in 1869. One of the main features of the building is the Clock Tower, which is adorned with beautiful Victorian carvings. Crawford market is a shopper’s paradise. The market place is seen loaded with piles of fresh fruits and vegetables, the fragrance of which can be smelled from a distance. Besides, one can also grab some fresh cheese and chocolate here, to pamper his taste buds. Moreover, it is also known for its meat and poultry stalls, which provide a wide variety to the customers at reasonable rates. Thus, Crawford market is a must visit place on your trip to Mumbai, the city of dreams.
  • Later we continue to visit Dhobi Gath, A unique feature of Mumbai, the dhobi is a traditional laundryman, who will collect your dirty linen, wash it, and return it neatly pressed to your doorstep. All for a pittance. The “laundries” are called “Ghats”: row upon row of concrete wash pens, each fitted with its own flogging stone. The clothes are soaked in sudsy water, thrashed on the flogging stones, then tossed into huge vats of boiling starch and hung out to dry. Next they are ironed and piled into neat bundles. The most famous of these Dhobi Ghats is at Saat Rasta near Mahalaxmi Station where almost two hundred dhobis and their families work together in what has always been a hereditary occupation.
